Do you ever feel underused by God? Like everyone else is being used in mighty ways and your job is to sit and watch.
“What’s the matter with me? Why don’t I get the gifts?” you ask.
Ah, but there is only one “you” and what God has given you is extremely specific and to be used in a specific way when he needs it.
A shadow board is a wall used to mount tools. Most of the wall is painted a dark color. On the peg where a tool is to hang, the tool is outlined and painted in a bright color on the wall. If a pipe wrench is supposed to hang on the peg, a bright yellow pipe wrench is painted on the dark wall at the peg. This way, the mechanic knows by looking at the wall which tools are not returned at the end of the day.
Each tool has a specific purpose. You do not use a screwdriver to hammer nails. You do not use a saw to undo pipe fittings. The mechanic uses the proper tool to do the job efficiently and correctly and then he hangs it back up in its correct spot in perfect condition to be used again another day.
We are God’s tools to be used for a specific purpose. I cannot do what you can do, and you don’t have my gifts but at any moment, God will grab you off the shadow board because you are exactly what he needs.
So be glad that you are unique and be ready because at any moment God may say, “I’ve got a job for you!”

I love that, Marty! Thanks!
Amen. I needed to hear that message today. Thank you Marty.
Yes,that is a great way of using the tools on the board at the right time. God knows our gifts that he has given to us.
Very encouraging, Marty!
