Four men stood facing the wall shoulder to shoulder. They looked very unsure of themselves. Two others had decided to sit this dance out. It was called the Line Dance on the High Seas.
With only the canned music coming from the ceiling speakers, the dance began.
One man, though not designated as the caller, shouted, “yeow!”
The four men leaned and awkwardly took two steps to the left. There was a pause. He then called out, “yeow!” again and the men staggered three steps to the right.
The men, new to the dance and who bumped shoulders, turned to the man beside him to apologize.
The dance then went in another direction. As the caller yelled “yeow!” each man took two steps back. They arched their backs but before four beats of the music they lunged forward again plunging each man headfirst into the wall.
With all the latest technology in today’s expensive cruise ships, I ask myself, “Why can’t they build automatic levelers into the floors of the men’s restrooms?

The same is true in the women’s except it’s a tap dance of heels on the swaying floor.
